Dear Matt,
You have truly been a blessing in my life. I’ve been following your work for about six or seven (67 hah) years now. I’m currently a third year college student in Georgia. My sister (and her friends) actually babysat your kids years ago.
I come from a family of eleven, which I’m deeply grateful for. Having eight siblings has been an enormous blessing, and I’m especially thankful for my mother, who homeschooled all of us. My older brothers were a bit ahead of me in age, and my younger brother has Down syndrome, so I grew up mostly alongside my sisters. In many ways that strengthened me, but for a long time I struggled to find a sense of brotherhood. God answered those prayers this past semester after I transferred to a new college, and I couldn’t be happier.
Your work has helped carry me through some very difficult seasons of life, and for that I’m sincerely grateful. What you do gives hope to men (and women) who are striving to live virtuously and to find others who share that mindset as they navigate daily life.
I recently figured out a way to subscribe month-to-month again, since the Locals app was pushing three- or twelve-month subscriptions, which just isn’t doable for me as a college student. I was really glad to find a workaround. I also sent you a message earlier during your livestream with tokens, since the membership hadn’t worked at the time.
I’ll be attending SEEK 2026 in Columbus, Ohio this week and am really looking forward to meeting you. I read Jesus, Our Refuge and absolutely loved it, I’d be honored to have it signed. I mentioned this in your livestream earlier today! :)
Quick funny story: once, at the yearly fair at the Cumming Fairgrounds in Georgia, I was riding the sky buckets, the cable cars that go over the fairgrounds. You were coming the opposite direction with two of your kids, one in each arm, your head resting forward. My friend next to me kept calling out, “Matt Fradd! Matt Fradd!” but you never looked up. 😂You were tired. I thought it was hilarious, especially since you’d just given a talk, I think, and honestly, seeing that very human moment was really beautiful.
I’m not in a relationship right now, trusting that God will bring that about in His own time, but I genuinely look forward to that vocation. I look forward to growing closer to Christ with my future wife, raising our children in the faith, and watching them grow—difficulties and all. Having been homeschooled myself, I very much hope to homeschool my children as well. I want my wife and me to raise our kids, rather than the culture—which, as you like to say, is often a “culture of lies,” something you’ll be addressing in your upcoming SEEK talk.
I’ve gone through seasons of struggling with sexual sin since I was about twelve, and your podcasts have helped tremendously. If I scroll far enough back on my Spotify history, almost everything I listened to in the beginning of learning about you and my faith was on that exact topic, and I worked my way through nearly all of your episodes on lust, pornography, dating, marriage, spiritual warfare (and even LOTR). Now I can listen to all of them, and they are all incredibly high quality and such a fun thing to put on while woodworking or driving.
Thank you for everything you do. Based on the direction I’m heading with my major and some ideas I’m pursuing, I have a feeling our paths may cross again in the future, I certainly hope they do. Please know that I’m praying for you, your family, and your new endeavor with my second-favorite YouTuber, Michael Knowles, at the Daily Wire.
I’ll also be starting Exodus 90 with a group of men on January 5th, the day we all drive back from the SEEK conference. I’ve found tremendous brotherhood at the school I transferred to, and I truly couldn’t have been given better men to walk with. I unfortunately will not be able to watch your livestreams during Exodus 90 I believe, but I think we said we could listen to podcasts that lift the soul to Christ. So we'll see on the podcasts. Hopefully I don't have to take a 90 day break from you, but we shall see! If so, I wish you all the best.
Can't wait to meet you brother!
Merry Christmas!
P.S. If you happen to have a Pints With Aquinas beer stein with you at the conference, I’d gladly buy it off you 😜
