Memorare to St. Joseph 🕊️
Remember, O most chaste spouse of the Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who implored your help and sought your intercession were left unassisted. Full of confidence in your power I fly unto you and beg your protection. Despise not O Guardian of the Redeemer my humble supplication, but in your bounty, hear and answer me. Amen.
A Note on Versions
Several versions of this prayer exist in devotional tradition, all following the same pattern as the original Memorare to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Another common version reads:
Remember, O most pure spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, my great protector, Saint Joseph, that no one ever had recourse to your protection, or implored your aid without obtaining relief. Confiding therefore in your goodness, I come before you. Do not turn down my petitions, foster father of the Redeemer, but graciously receive them.
Why Turn to Joseph
St. Joseph, silent guardian of the Holy Family, was entrusted with the care of Jesus and Mary — a role that reveals his singular closeness to the Sacred Heart and Immaculate Heart. Confidence in his intercession rests on the truth that God placed the Redeemer and the Mother of God directly into his care, and a father who was faithful in that duty does not abandon those who now call upon him.
