Today, June 13, 2026, the Church celebrates the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary — the Saturday following the second Sunday after Pentecost. Also commemorated today is St. Anthony of Padua (his traditional feast day of June 13), Doctor of the Church and one of history's greatest preachers and lovers of souls.
Here is a prayer rooted in both:
🕊️ A Catholic Prayer for June 13, 2026
Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Heavenly Father,
On this day the Church lifts up the Immaculate Heart of Mary —
a heart pure from the very beginning,
shaped entirely by Your grace,
pierced by sorrow, and yet never broken by despair.
In her heart, she pondered all things.
In her heart, she kept Your Word.
In her heart, she held the Cross
and called it gift.
Lord, teach this heart to be like hers —
not hardened by the world,
not scattered by distraction,
not emptied by noise —
but quiet, attentive, and full of You.
Through her intercession and the example of St. Anthony of Padua,
whose love for souls burned so bright
that even in death he draws the lost home,
renew in this heart a desire to seek first Your Kingdom.
May this day be an offering.
May every moment be a prayer.
May the words of my mouth
and the meditations of my heart
be acceptable in Your sight.
Immaculate Heart of Mary — pray for us.
St. Anthony of Padua — pray for us.
Amen.
📖 Scripture for Today
“For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be."
— Matthew 6:21
🌹 A Simple Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart
“Mary, my Mother, I give you my heart today. Keep it, purify it, and present it to your Son. Let nothing separate me from Jesus — not sin, not fear, not the noise of this world. Amen."
The Immaculate Heart of Mary is not simply a devotion — it is a school of holiness. Her heart is the model of every human heart properly ordered to God: receptive to grace, obedient to the Word, faithful through suffering.
What is one concrete thing that could be placed in Mary's heart today — a worry, a sin, a person — and surrendered to her care?
