⚔️ A Catholic Man's Daily Prayer
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Lord God, You have called me to live with courage, integrity, and humility. Today, I place my work, my responsibilities, and my struggles into Your hands. Give me strength when I am tired, wisdom when I must decide, and patience when I am tested.
Lord God, Almighty Father, Son and Holy Spirit, help me to know, love, and serve You in my every thought, word and deed, and guide and strengthen me to be a blessing to every soul I meet today.
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend me in battle.
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
Soul of Christ (Anima Christi)
Soul of Christ, sanctify me. Body of Christ, save me. Blood of Christ, inebriate me. Water from the side of Christ, wash me. Passion of Christ, strengthen me. O good Jesus, hear me. Hide me within your wounds, keep me close to you, defend me from the evil enemy, call me at the hour of my death, and bid me to come to you, to praise you with your saints, forever and ever. Amen.
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
🛡️ Why This Prayer Matters for Men
The Catholic tradition has always emphasized the importance of a robust prayer life and constant communication with God as the foundation of a holy life. It is through prayer that we can discern God's will and listen for what God is saying in a given situation. Through prayer, we abandon ourselves to God's will and open ourselves up to being the hands of God in the world.
The recovery of authentic manhood is an urgent need in the Church and in the world today. Rather than being invented anew, authentic manhood needs to be recovered and freshly lived out. Following and responding to both Scripture and the wisdom of the saints, men can learn and practice the truth of their dignity.
A man's deepest identity is that he is a beloved son of the Father — and the call is to let God forgive, love, guide, and shower blessings, especially the blessing of eternity with Him in heaven.
A man on his knees in prayer is not weak — he is a warrior taking his position. As Scripture says, "Put on the armor of God" (Ephesians 6:11).
